Suzumiya Haruhi - Max Factory

Suzumiya Haruhi

If you never heard of this figure, then you're no Otaku, believe me... This figure is a PVC of a million mankind (or that's what my friend danie said about this). Yeah, this is the most famous figure ever sculpted. It's Suzumiya Haruhi from Max Factory.

This figure has been re-released several times. And i get it on the lastest re-release. I bought it from my local figure store, and right at that time (January 2008) this figure is still in stock in HLJ.

So this is a little detail about it :
Suzumiya Haruhi
Series : Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu
Manufacturer : Max Factory
Scale : 1/8
Price : JPY 3800
This figure has good quality and cheap price. That's why it's so popular. Even Prim3 give this figure a Prim3 RECOMMENDED.

Anyway, you've seen photos of this figure anywhare on the net, so i'll just put a few number here.

"YOU! Join the SOS-Dan, it's an order!"

A very nice detail on her uniform, ribbon tie, and armband

Once again, like the 2 photoshot before, i didn't do a photograph of one feature in the figure. In this figure, i didn't shot Haruhi "Great Director" armband, and megaphone. But as an exchange, i have this special photo :

XXXH-00WH Wing Haruhi Zero Custom

Yeah, it's MG Wing Zero Custom's wing unit. It's the newest addition to my brother's Gundam collection.

Like ron~ always said, i guess this photos need more angle and more close up photos. Sorry if i don't have any other angle. I remember that so much photos variation of this figure in the net, and i'm not planning on copy them.

But don't worry, this is not the best photos i got. The best photos will come at the last post, so as always, look forward for the next set of photos.

Camera info:
Canon EOS 400D

  1. haha, need more pictures!

    nice wing haruhi zero custom~

for the photo, I find that her left side is too dark, you may want to use stronger relfector or another lamp instead.

  2. Yeah, still need more picture. I know that my problem is gears and tools.

First is the lamp, i know that left side is too dark so i have to rely on my beginner photoshop skill.

The second problem is i don't have macro lens. So to make a close up photos i have to used a tele lens.

But a tele lens doesn't have short focus distance. I have to put my camera 1.2m away from the figure, so i only got almost full body shot. And i have to crop it to make it look like a close up one.

  3. I use to take picture with the standard kit lens, should be good enough (minus the sharpness). have you tried changing the f/stop value?

this photos were shot using normal kit lens, http://tinyurl.com/6em3ap

    but nikon's kit lens is 18-55mm, so it's alot closer compared with the lens that you use (55-200m). however my macro lens focal length is at 150mm, so I actually has to shot the figurine from 1-2m distance ^^;

  4. After this i'll write a new post containing a photo on how i layout my mini-studio. And you'll know why my 18-55 lens can't reach a close up.

If you have a 150mm focal length then you have to back out to get full body shot, but a close up photos are no problem for macro lens.
