Various thing about last photoshoot

All the Haruhi i have (minus Haruhi Toranoana)

Haruhi is one of my favorite anime character. And all the Haruhi here is stil a small number of all the Haruhi figure that ever released on earth. And also Haruhi is the first figure i bought. She's the one who lead me to figure collecting world.

Haruhi Maxfact : hey, you got big breast!
Haruhi Metamo : of course!

Two Haruhis are always fun to play and make a little dialog between them. And for that reason, this photo above existed. It's a little coincidence that Haruhi Maxfact finger has the same height with Haruhi Metamo's breast.

My mini-studio in my messy room

So this is how i arrange my mini studio. I got only 2 lamps, 2 tables, 1 light box, and 1 tripod. I used a plastic chair and semi-transparent paper to create a light box. The lamp inside the light box only have 23 watts power.

If you look at Suzumiya Haruhi - The photoshoot comments, you'll know that i have a hard time to create a close up photos. I got some problem with my mini studio arrangement :
1. The table is a little to long, so i can't get my tripod close enough to the object.
2. I can't move the object closer to the camera because of the lamp. Moving my lamp and light box also not an option since the cable isn't long enough.
So that's why i need a macro lens to get close up photos, and a flash gun (plus wireless) to create a light from new direction.

That's it for this photo session. Look forward for next photo session with new figures. I haven't photographed my Nendoroid, and i already paid my figma Haruhi, so the only thing left is wait for figma Haruhi.

Destiny Gundam - MG

Destiny Gundam MG

Destiny Gundam, my brother's first MG Gunpla kits. Because of this MG Destiny, we know that all the Gundam we bought before (Deathscythe HG, Strike Freedom Lightning, and Wing Zero NG 1/60) isn't very good as an MG kit would be.

Z.A.F.T (Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty) mobile suit

An MG Gunpla kit is awesome. By looking at the manual book, we already know that the parts are special and the posability itself it's totally great, compared to HG. Yeah, that's an MG for you i guess. That's why my brother decided to sell all his HG Gundam, and yeah... All 3 of them are already sold now.

So here's a little detail of this Gundam :
Destiny Gundam
ZGMF-X42S ZAFT Mobile Suit
Master Grade 1/100
ZGMF-X42S

This Destiny Gundam got some nice weapons. A giant 2-handed sword (i always called it Sword Strike since it used by Sword Strike Gundam), a rail gun, a rifle, beam saber, and boomerang. In standby mode, the Sword Strike and the rail gun are mounted on its back.

Sword Strike and Rail Gun mounted on the back

Its beam saber is mounted on both shoulder, just like Wing Zero did on its beam saber. The difference is, the saber hilt isn't hidden inside the shoulder, but outside the shoulder.

Beam saber mount

It has 2 beam sabers, each on both side of shoulders. You only got 2 hilts from the parts, but the parts give you a total of 2 long beams and 2 short beams. You can use them as a combination of dual sword, sword and dagger, or dual dagger.

Beam Saber and Beam Dagger (boomerang to be exact)

Weilding a dual weapon is cool as always

Another equipment it has is physical shield. Often used with rifle. It's a normal shield that almost all Gundam should have.

Rifle and shield action

Railgun is another great weapon Destiny Gundam has. The rail gun still stay mounted on the backpack even in shooting mode.

A railgun action

The other and IMO the best weapon it got is a Giant Sword. I called it Sword Strike since it used by Sword Strike Gundam. I played a Gundam Seed simulation game in PS2, and i like to use a Sword Strike Gundam, since it's full of greate sword slashing action.

Two-handed Sword Strike action

Another 2-handed Sword Strike Action

Magic on the left hand, Sword Strike on the right hand

Another feature i've seen on the book and the box is a magic (?). In the kit, you'll got a fixed pose hand like the photo above. It's seems like emitting a magic beam from the hand. Oh yeah, it also has a beam shield.

Magic beam and a beam shield action

And the last feature is the cockpit. It looks like it's hard to open the cockpit. My brother opened it for me to get it photographed.

A cockpit here

Well, that's it for Destiny Gundam. I guess the best set of photoshot i got from Sunday session is this set. Especially the black background that fit the Destiny Gundam. And also this is the last set of photoshot. But don't worry, still one more post to come. Look forward for what's inside the next post.

Suzumiya Haruhi - Max Factory

Suzumiya Haruhi

If you never heard of this figure, then you're no Otaku, believe me... This figure is a PVC of a million mankind (or that's what my friend danie said about this). Yeah, this is the most famous figure ever sculpted. It's Suzumiya Haruhi from Max Factory.

This figure has been re-released several times. And i get it on the lastest re-release. I bought it from my local figure store, and right at that time (January 2008) this figure is still in stock in HLJ.

So this is a little detail about it :
Suzumiya Haruhi
Series : Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu
Manufacturer : Max Factory
Scale : 1/8
Price : JPY 3800
This figure has good quality and cheap price. That's why it's so popular. Even Prim3 give this figure a Prim3 RECOMMENDED.

Anyway, you've seen photos of this figure anywhare on the net, so i'll just put a few number here.

"YOU! Join the SOS-Dan, it's an order!"

A very nice detail on her uniform, ribbon tie, and armband

Once again, like the 2 photoshot before, i didn't do a photograph of one feature in the figure. In this figure, i didn't shot Haruhi "Great Director" armband, and megaphone. But as an exchange, i have this special photo :

XXXH-00WH Wing Haruhi Zero Custom

Yeah, it's MG Wing Zero Custom's wing unit. It's the newest addition to my brother's Gundam collection.

Like ron~ always said, i guess this photos need more angle and more close up photos. Sorry if i don't have any other angle. I remember that so much photos variation of this figure in the net, and i'm not planning on copy them.

But don't worry, this is not the best photos i got. The best photos will come at the last post, so as always, look forward for the next set of photos.

Metamo Haruhi - Photoshoot

Metamo Haruhi bunny version 1.5 SP Color

Haruhi Metamo, a 1/8 figure of Suzumiya Haruhi with her bunny suit and "Join the SOS-Dan" board. I've told you about this Metamo figure feature. It can change color depending on the room temperature.

Here's a little detail about the figure :
Metamo Haruhi Bunny version 1.5 SP Color
Origin : Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu
Manufacturer : Bandai
Scale : 1/8 scale
Release Date : February 2008
Price : JPY 3800
I bought this figure from Play-Asia, and i know i got a nice cheap deal from Play-Asia. At first, my friend told me about the first version of this figure, the white-black color. I missed that version, but it seems the red one is more interesting than the white one.

Suzumiya Haruhi and her "Join the SOS-Dan" face

I only photograph her at red bunny suit. I guess i'm too lazy to get her to a refrigerator :P. She came with a black base, black support, and the SOS-Dan board.

Her body leaning forward

I found a little flaw of this figure. Look at the photo above, i took it precisely from its left hand side. You can see that this figure is a potential leaner. Her upper body leans toward making the weight focused in the front. So a base support is needed to support her body, and that makes quite an eyesore for display.

"Join the SOS-Dan" board

Well, i guess i still have to keep her stand with the support, since the feet base isn't strong enough to hold the whole weight. The other interesting parts from this figure are SOS-Dan board and the base. I don't really know about the Japanese characters on the board, so i just assume it "Join the SOS-dan" :P. On the base, you can see a big H and HARUHI-ISM word, a usual Haruhi-ism symbol i guess.

Bunny Tail and her sexy butt

But still, Haruhi is still sexy as always, and she looks a bit tall in this figure. I guess Bandai made the legs a little longer.

Well, that's it for today. And as always, look forward for the next set of photos tomorrow.

Shana Candy Bikini - The Photoshoot

Shana Candy Bikini

So this is my latest photo session. Done this photoshoot session yesterday (Sunday, April 20th 2008). I was experimenting new background color and newly installed Canon EOS software, EOS Utility.

By using this utility, i can use my USB cable to connect my SLR to PC. After connecting my SLR to PC, EOS Utility can help me set my camera and shot from PC, and after that the photo will be directly downloaded to PC.

Pressing shutter button from EOS Utility can help you to prevent motion blur. And downloading photo after shot can help you to check your result with more detail.

I also tried new software from Canon EOS package. It's Digital Photo Professional. It helps you browse and edit your photos quickly. You can edit level, curves, noise reduction, and thangs that have connection with the RGB.

Well, enough of talking about EOS Utility. Shana's already waiting from the beginning :P. I already told you about Shana Candy Bikini's "secret" feature before. So i won't talk much in this post. I'll let the photos do the talking.

Oh, before the photos, i won't miss the figure details:
Shana Candy Bikini
1/8 Scale
Kotobukiya
JPY 4800
I bought this from HLJ. I think it's still in stock, if you want to get one.

Shana complete with her Nietono no Shana

I don't see her tsun-tsun face

Next up is close up photos. I noticed that i need to show special details of this figure. But since i don't have any macro lens, so i have to use my tele EF 55-200mm lens, with closest focus distance of 1.2m, so i have to step backward a little bit.

And even Alastor here too, don't miss her Deliciously Flat Chest

Her upper swimsuit it's somewhat special, i like it!

Her lower swimsuit complete with ribbon on both sides, came with custom sand base

I didn't do a photoshot of her transparent bikini here. And i also didn't do a photoshot of her glowing hair, like i said before.

Wing Gundam Zero

Sorry for the late update man. Oh yeah, so many assignments, once again, can kill me. I even forgot to change the picture of the week last week.

Wing Gundam Zero

This is last week photoshoot. It's photograph of :
Wing Gundam Zero
XXXG - 00W0
Non-grade 1/60 scale
Yet another non-grade big scale Gundam. A non-grade Gundam isn't really as good as i thought. It has a number of parts as many as the HG one, except it's much bigger. Anyway, my brother already sold this Wing Zero a week after this photoshoot session.

Closed up shield action

Dual Beam Rifle in action

Beam Rifle and Beam Saber

Next are some features that this Wing Zero has:

Wing Gundam Zero bird mode

Machine gun on shoulder

Putting Beam Saber in shoulder

I spent this Sunday to photograph some of my new collections and my brothers MG Destiny Gundam. I'll post one figure photoshoot per day, from tomorrow, so look forward to it.

Strike Freedom Lightning Edition

Strike Freedom Lightning Edition

Still remember this Strike Freedom? I mentioned about this before. Around 2 weeks ago i found out that the weather was clear enough to do outdoor figure photoshoot, so i took my brother's Strike Freedom to rooftop and do a little photo session.

Full view of Strike Freedom Lightning Edition

This Gundam isn't a Master Grade or Perfect Grade. It's a Non-Grade 1/60 scale Gundam. So the posability and the balance isn't really good. A base is a must if you want to create some cool pose for this Gundam.

Dual guns pose is always cool

Dual guns again (too bad with the base)

Strike Freedom equipped with Beam Saber and Shield

It's hard to make it stand without its base. So i have to fold up The Dragoon (wing unit) and make the upper body leans forward.
